Why Omnisearch matters for catering
01
Stop menu hunting
A confirmed order, vendor credit, or prep recipe is one search away instead of three sidebar clicks.
02
Keep the call moving
While a client is on the phone, pull their last event, open quote, and answer without putting them on hold.
03
Works from any page
⌘K opens the palette over recipes, production, delivery, or CRM so context never breaks your flow.

Catering runs on names and numbers. Your software should not bury them.
The GM needs SO-2847. The chef needs the tikka marinade. Purchasing needs the Sysco invoice from Tuesday. Every extra click is time stolen from the event on the calendar.
Take catering seriously
Serious ops software puts the record in front of you the moment you know what you are looking for.

Before / after
From sidebar archaeology to one answer
The old way
- Sales → Orders → filter by date → scroll
- Open CRM to find the client name first
- Ask someone else who has the tab open
With Omnisearch
- ⌘K → type "westside" → open SO-2847
- Customer, order, and invoice in grouped results
- Keyboard navigation with Enter to select
Speed is retention
Answer the client while the kitchen keeps cooking
The right record in seconds means fewer hold music moments and fewer "let me call you back" threads.
Search finds it. These workflows finish the job.
Jump to a quote with Omnisearch, then build it in sales orders and quotes. Ask the AI sous chef when you need costing help instead of a report. See pricing for plans.
Omnisearch FAQ
Straight answers about search scope, keyboard shortcuts, and the live demo.
What can I search with Omnisearch?
Recipes, ingredients, vendors, customers, sales orders, invoices, purchase orders, menus, menu items, recipe books, meal plans, categories, vendor items, tags, tasks, and task lists. Quick Actions also jump you to common pages like New Recipe or Sales Orders.
How do I open Omnisearch?
Press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux. You can also click the search button in the top navigation bar.
Does Omnisearch search across locations?
Yes. Results respect your account and the locations you can access, so a commissary manager and a kitchen chef see the records their role allows.
Can I jump straight to a record?
Yes. Select a result with Enter or click it and Prep Station opens that recipe, order, customer, or vendor immediately.
Does Omnisearch replace saved searches?
No. Saved searches and favorites still hold named filter presets on list pages. Omnisearch is for when you already know the name or number and want to get there in one keystroke.
How many results does Omnisearch show?
Up to five matches per category and twenty-five total. Type at least three characters to start a server search.
Is Omnisearch included in the demo?
Yes. Omnisearch is part of the platform on every plan. Try the live demo with sample catering data loaded.
