Your First Order

A storefront checkout becomes a sales order. Where you look depends on whether the customer asked for a quote or paid.

Open Sales & Finance → Sales → Sales Orders.

Two kinds of online checkout

What the customer did What you see What you do
Email me this quote Quote requests on Sales Orders Open it and reply. It is not in the awaiting-confirmation queue. Click Confirm only when you want the kitchen to make it
Pay & place order An amber banner: online orders awaiting confirmation Open the order and click Confirm

The same lists are in the filters on Sales Orders: Pending online, Quote requests, and Website orders. Clear filter brings the full list back.

Hide carts hides carts that never finished checkout, from the storefront or an ordering kiosk. Those aren't orders yet. Turn that filter off if a test never reached checkout and you still want to see it.

Confirming a paid order

Pending online and Quote requests are in the Filters menu on Sales Orders. Confirm is on the order itself.

  1. Open the order from the awaiting-confirmation banner
  2. Click Confirm
  3. Confirm the prompt: Confirm this order?

Confirming moves the order forward so the kitchen can prepare it. If Card capture is Authorize, manager confirms, this is also when the held card is captured. If you chose Auto-capture on payment, the card was already charged at checkout and you are still confirming the order itself.

Don't worry about a mis-click on a draft you're still editing. Confirm asks before it runs. Changing an order after it's confirmed is a separate step, covered in Editing Confirmed Orders & Refunds.

Try it yourself

  1. Copy the live link from Webstore → Storefront
  2. Open it in a private window
  3. Add an item, pick a saved delivery or pickup time, and check out
  4. Come back to Sales Orders and find that test

If checkout won't offer a time, the hours aren't saved yet. See Hours and Limits.

Common Questions

Q: I got an email that a quote is ready, but nothing is awaiting confirmation.
A: That's expected. A quote request waits on the customer. You'll confirm it after they accept, or you can open the order and work it like any other quote.

Q: The test order isn't in the list.
A: Check the awaiting-confirmation banner and the quote-request banner. Also clear Hide carts if a cart never finished checkout.

Q: Can I cancel a test order?
A: Yes. From Sales Orders, cancel or archive it. Archive can be restored. Cancelling a paid test releases a held card authorization. A captured payment is not refunded automatically — see Editing Confirmed Orders & Refunds before you cancel a captured charge.
